Video conferencing can be a very effective method for tax planning and preparation. Our tax preparation fees are based on the forms filed and there is no additional cost for video conferencing. We can accommodate local clients who prefer the convenience of a video conference or those who live remotely anywhere.
The following procedures will assure a smooth, productive tax filing experience while protecting your personal information. Our preferred video conferencing platform Zoom provides good video and sound quality, allows us to easily share screens and it’s free. You will need internet access, a video camera, a speaker, and a microphone.
Step 1. Schedule Your Video Conference.
Step 2. Expect a Zoom Video Confirmation.
Izaira will send a confirmation via e-mail for the Zoom video conference with a link to the conference which will look like this:
(Name of TaxPlus Representative) is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.
Topic: My Tax Meeting
Time: Jan 23, 201,9 8:00 AM Pacific Time (US and Canada)

Step 3. Expect Tax Organizer(s). (Optional)
Izaira will e-mail you the appropriate tax organizers if requested. If you are an existing client the organizers are customized based on prior year information and password protected with your tax id. Otherwise, for new clients, the tax organizers will be standard, but based on your specific tax situation.
Step 4. Gather Tax Information & Send to TaxPlus.
Gather all relevant tax documents, complete the tax organizer(s) and send them to Izaira via our secure document exchange link in Izaira’s e-mail signature below the company logo. E-mail or call your tax representative with any tax questions during your document gathering process. Once your documents are complete, send them to Izaira as soon as possible ahead of your video conference.
Step 5. Expect a DRAFT of your Tax Filings.
The TaxPlus representative will work on your returns and e-mail or call with any questions in the time before the video conference. They will send you a DRAFT of your tax forms for review ahead of your video conference. This is only a DRAFT which could change significantly when reviewed in depth together during the video conference.
Step 6. Video Conference Appointment.
On the date and time of your video conference, you will click on the pre-established link that Izaira e-mailed. The one-hour conference will resolve any final questions to arrive at an optimal tax filing.
Step 7. Finalize Your Tax Filings.
Upon your approval, the TaxPlus representative will send you a final copy for your e-signature. Once we have your e-signatures we can e-file your tax returns!
